RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client seeking a Java Developer for remote work. In this role, the Java Developer is responsible for technical analysis, design, development, testing, system implementation activities in addition to ongoing system support. Responsibilities:
  • The Java Developer designs, develops, tests, and implements software applications using standardize methodologies and industry best practices on Linux Server (RHEL) virtualized environments
  • Assist with requirements definition and functional application design
  • Create and maintain web application architectural documentation and standards
  • Provides technical leadership to development and production support team members
  • Designs and implements high performance, scalable enterprise information architecture and distributed applications design
  • Java Developer will analyze existing application design, architecture, and code to improve quality, mitigate issues and improve performance and functionality
  • Provides technical support and troubleshoots applications issues and bugs
  • Designs and implements data integration and data access solutions across various legacy, enterprise, and departmental applications via web services, REST, XML, SOAP, WSDL, SOA
  • Java Developer will work with software development teams, systems, and software architects to deliver sound, timely technical solutions to complex software integration problems as it relates to enterprise-wide systems and other open-source technologies.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS or BA degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or related work experience
  • 7-10 years of overall software development experience in a client/server, distributed and/or web-based environment utilizing enterprise Java, Jersey, Spring Framework, Maven and Web technologies
  • Familiar with SOA /ESB concepts, Event Driven Architecture, Microservice Architecture, J2EE design patterns, frameworks, and Enterprise Architecture
  • Hands on experience using Red Hat Enterprise Linux and should be familiar with build and integration process
  • Working knowledge and expertise with multiple Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC) and industry standard development methodologies
  • Working knowledge of Data Modeling, Relational Databases, and database design
  • Working knowledge of alternative data management technologies (memCached, memBase, MongoDB, ehCache) including BASH scripting
  • Working knowledge and experience with integrated testing /test driven development
  • Prior experience in leading/mentoring execution focused development teams
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking as it applies to engineering and implementation of Java/EE-based applications
  • Knowledge of and experience with Agile SCRUM software development methodology and practices
  • Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
