Role and Responsibilities

The Senior IT Analyst has in-depth knowledge and experience in own discipline. This role solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions. Works independently; receives minimal guidance. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Contributes to process improvements. Often leads the work of project teams; may formally mentor and train junior staff

Technical Leadership: This role is a technical leader in the organization. The ideal candidate possesses a broad understanding of the current technical environment to advise customers on what is and what is not possible. Also, they exercise influence in large teams.

Know How: Normally unassisted, this role utilizes general knowledge to perform moderately complex assignments within area. Periodically, they consult senior professionals when problems encountered fall outside of their area of specialty. Inexperienced professionals regularly consult this role. Expertise spans several areas within their discipline and relationships to other disciplines.

Innovation: Collaborates with others to enhance work processes or structures. Carefully monitors the accuracy and quality of work methods and outputs. Addresses process breakdowns with speed and thoroughness. Identifies ways to streamline and/or improve efficiency of work. Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement. Helps with developing small project proposals.

Teamwork: Engages with several aspects of team activities. Helps onboard new employees. Builds relationships across teams. Works across groups to maximize output on team goals

Analytical Skills: Supports their assigned function(s) to clarify, develop, and plan for their current and future technology needs. Assesses, defines, and develops solutions to moderately complex problems generally unassisted. Makes recommendations for action plans or streamlining to improve business performance. Participates in ROI and other financial analyses.

Autonomy: Works with general instructions and supervision. Having choice of technical decisions and interpretation within project objective. May help establish own program, timetable, follow-up procedures, with general review of work at periodic intervals by a higher-level professional/supervisor, exercising control when interdepartmental coordination requires.

Relationships: Serves in a customer facing role as a primary IT contact, up to senior management levels. Continues to build perception as a key resource who understands how their customer areas do business and use information, so that they can add value to the business.

Communication: Provides clear and detailed information to others. Expresses one-self effectively in one-on-one conversations and small groups. Shares information and viewpoints openly and directly with others. Prepares reports, documentation, and other written information thoroughly and clearly

People Leadership: May be responsible for directing and monitoring the work of external/internal team members. May provide guidance and training to enable other team members to meet/exceed expectations. May have input into hiring decisions. Mentors other team members.

Project Planning & Execution: Plans and executes smaller projects and executes segments of complex larger projects. Pays attention to results expected. Identifies areas that require and can coordinate analysis outside of their discipline on assigned tasks. Gets help in removing obstacles to move forward or get back on track. Demonstrates expertise in defining improved processes. Consistently completes complex projects on-time and on-budget.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

This is a Hybrid position

Requirements

Minimum 6 years’ experience in Information Technology or relevant business experience.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related discipline, or equivalent work experience
