Contractor: Senior Project Manager Job Summary

Currently, we are seeking a talented Senior Project Manager to contract with the Corporate Division in Newport Beach, CA. The Corporate Division supports the goals and initiatives of all other divisions throughout the company and its subsidiaries. These departments include: Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology, Corporate Development, Public Affairs, Safety & Security, Legal & Compliance.

Primary Focus:

The Senior Project Manager manages projects and/or programs with varying degrees of complexity by assembling project teams, developing project schedules, project plans and all supporting documents to ensure program/project is delivered within scope, schedule, cost, and specifications and to the satisfaction of stakeholders and sponsors.  The Senior Project Manager leads and influences project sponsors & stakeholders and the core project team members in the successful completion / implementation of projects as defined by the project's business case.

Specific Accountabilities:
  • Works with and provides strategic and tactical plans to the Director - Corporate Strategic Initiatives regarding execution and standards in fulfillment of department, division and/or enterprise needs
  • Direct and manage multiple and complex enterprise-wide projects/programs of medium-to-large size and their respective project teams of varying sizes and backgrounds that may expand across the enterprise
  • Establish, analyze, and maintain scope, project plans, resources, report progress as required, generate risk assessments, escalate issues, facilitate project review presentations and meetings related to the projects/programs involving multiple stakeholders
  • Serves as a liaison between Corporate Finance, Enterprise Risk Management, and other Divisions. Develop, foster, and manage relationships with project/program sponsor(s) for influence in effective decision making as well as all levels of management including C-level, operations, business analysts, change management resources and business staff
  • Support change management at the organizational level, coordinating efforts with the Change Management Center of Excellence, other Change Practitioners, change-enabling roles of project manager, project team and SMEs
  • Partner and assist management with the utilization of resources for project/program planning activities across the enterprise. Apply a structured methodology and lead change management activities to create actionable deliverables for the five change management levers: communications plan, sponsor roadmap, coaching plan, training plan, resistance management plan
  • Experience with building governance and frameworks in Finance and Enterprise Risk Management with a strong business acumen preferred (e.g., In-depth knowledge of financial services industry products, services, markets, and technology across the business value chain)
  • Strong in critical thinking, data analysis and reporting, risk and controls, and process improvement
  • 5+ years progressive experience in project/program management skills, techniques and methodology, strategic management and/or management consulting
  • Highly skilled in MS productivity tools, including MS Project, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Visio, and collaboration tools
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, exhibit poise and exercise diplomacy in communication, ability to influence others toward consensus, conflict management and decision-making
  • Must be a self-starter, have demonstrated experience in a lead role, be well organized, effectively managing their time and be a strong leader who can adapt rapidly to new developments and changing priorities
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, MBA, CFA, CPA, or other relevant study, or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as PMO, Training Development or Marketing, is foundational. PMP certifications highly preferred as well as Change management certification or designation desired; Prosci Certification a plus
