This position is responsible for the development, implementation and continual improvement of a proactive dispersed workforce HSE program for a major Electric Vehicle Charging (EVC) build-out program across the United States and Canada. This position leads HSE policies and procedures implementation including all HSE-related aspects of the workplace and working activities, such as training, auditing, inspections, coaching, and technical program leadership in such areas as project management, contractor safety oversight, electrical safety, control of hazardous energy, equipment safety, incident investigations, and training.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
Provides strategic planning, programs, and tool development (e.g., risk assessment, contractor safety program qualifications metrics, training, playbook, technical assistance, technology use) to affect proper risk management and capitalize on continuous improvement opportunities.
Evaluates and identifies standards and controls for HSE hazards and establishes account-specific requirements and implements practices for protection from those hazards.
Coordinates with Procurement Manager and project team to ensure HSE compliance of any vendors onboarded to support account and Americas region.
Leads the account HSE Management System.
Provides functional leadership; act as a point of escalation and decision-making; be an agent of change/identity and remove obstacles/barriers.
Monitors compliance with regulations and conformance with company and client standards, as applicable.
Leads/Performs HSE risk assessments, audits, inspections and manages detailed incident investigations that prevent recurrence.
Monitors injury, illness, and incident related performance across the managed program. Monitors performance for trends or other indicators of improving or degrading incident performance and develops and implements strategic solutions that will improve the performance results as required.
Compiles, analyzes, and interprets statistical data, prepares comprehensive recommendations for actions to eliminate or minimize potential hazards.
Supports Platform HSE training and develops and presents account-specific training materials to ensure competency.
Leads a highly effective workforce safety engagement program for a dispersed workforce.

Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.

**EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE**
Bachelors degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university in engineering, industrial safety, science, or related field. Minimum of 8 years of professional level HSE program management experience. Must have experience leading in a matrix environment.
Expertise in contractor safety management, management systems and process improvement techniques (e.g. six sigma) a plus.
Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state and local health and safety, and environmental regulations is essential. Direct experience dealing with regulatory agencies and / or compliance officers is required.
**CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES**
As required by local authority (if required). Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) - Preferred
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action. Ability to operate MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate complex figures. Ability to forecast and prepare budgets. Conducts financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports.
Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.
**SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY**
Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve general results. Responsible for setting department deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to co-workers, supervisor, department and/or line of business.
