JOB DESCRIPTION for Production Operators – Loads and unloads inorganic acids and bases from tank trucks into bulk storage tanks, tote bins, drums, and pails in addition to the following duties:

RESPONSIBILITIES for Production Operators
• Positions and blocks vehicles by signaling Heavy Truck Driver before loading and unloading.
• The operator evaluates the bill of lading for inbound product to ensure that it matches up with the product and quantity ordered from the supplier. The operator double checks the tank to ensure that it can hold the quantity being delivered.
• Positions vehicle close to the receiving storage tank, attaches air valve to the man-way “Christmas tree” (if air unloading), and/or aids the driver in connecting the hoses to the truck pump and storage tank receiving line.
• Operator double checks the hookup to ensure that the tanker is connected to the correct storage tank. He determines that adequate air pressure has built up in the tanker or that the driver is ready to engage his pump to unload.
