**Job Description:**

Global Expense Management (GEM) offers a unique Finance experience including the opportunity to support Consumer, Global Wealth & Investment Management, Global Markets, Global Banking and Staff Support. Additionally, GEM offers a broad scope of responsibilities to report and analyze enterprise wide expense.

+ GEM is a new team alignment with the goal of breaking down historical silos of work and combining similar work functions in order to simplify and create more efficient processes.

+ GEM provides opportunities to create new processes and innovate on best practices to support expense management (drive change and challenge status quo).

+ As the GEM team continues to drive standardization and automation, the ideal candidate would bring experience in helping to drive change whether it be process improvement or emerging technology related.

+ The GEM team is continuing to look for opportunities to apply emerging technology to drive efficiencies and reduce risk in manual reporting processes.

+ Opportunity to create a sustainable and repeatable process that supports continuous improvement while providing ongoing financial support to BFOs across finance.Throughout the tenure of the role the teammate will gain exposure and acumen across multiple business segments and products, and opportunities to develop/improve the following skills: effective communication, financial acumen, leadership, and effective business partnering.

The GEM team is responsible for being the expense subject matter experts across the Enterprise and working as the expense liaison to Lines of Business and the CFO teams, driving expense discipline across the Enterprise.

The primary focus of these roles will include expense management responsibilities such as:

+ Value added analytics and reporting

+ Month-end close and forecasting analysis and reporting

+ Prepare, analyze and review monthly expense estimates

+ Proactive communication/partnership with CFO teams, LOBs, and supporting partners

+ Proactive search for opportunities to automate key functions/reports and eliminate unnecessary work

+ Creating and Driving new processes and innovating on best practices to support expense communication and facilitation with numerous product/channel/horizontal finance partners

**Required Skills**

+ Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, and/or equivalent work experience

+ Minimum of 2 years of related industry experience with strong, proven financial reporting background

+ Advanced Excel, modeling, data manipulation

+ Strong communication, organization, presentation, analytical, and leadership skills

+ Analytical Abilities / Financial Acumen - Systematic application of a combination of inductive and deductive reasoning to examine information, interpret results and arrive at well-founded logical conclusions. Understanding of accounting (debits / credits)

+ Builds Partnerships - Builds broad-based business relationships across the organization.

+ Strong business acumen

**Desired Skills**

+ Financial planning, analysis and reporting

+ Knowledge of the emerging technology tools is preferred whether it is technical expertise or an understanding of how application of those tools can achieve benefits.

+ Ability to manage through competing priorities

+ SAP/eLedger/Essbase

+ Applies business knowledge to solve business problems and create new opportunities

+ Financial statement analysis experience
