Position Summary As a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in the U.S. Air Force, you’ll perform specialized and critical nursing duties for surgical patients before, during and after surgery. You’ll be an indispensable member of the surgical team and patients will rely on your expertise and care every day, all around the world. Primary Responsibilities Administer anesthetics to patients and monitor their care during surgery. Attend to preoperative evaluations and postoperative care of patients. To be considered, you must meet the following requirements: Master’s degree awarded from a graduate nurse anesthesia program Successfully passed the national certifying examination within one year of completion of required didactic and clinical requirements Minimum six months of full-time nursing practice in the APRN specialty At least 12 months of experience as a registered nurse Completion of eight-week Officer Training School Must be a U.S. citizen between the ages of 18 and 47 Must be willing to relocate About the Air Force The mission of the U.S. Air Force is to fly, fight and win—airpower anytime, anywhere.
