Casting and Tooling Manufacturing Engineer

  • Working knowledge of Aluminum High Pressure Die Casting
  • Experience with the manufacture of complex multi-slide die casting dies and trim dies
  • Ability to select steels and specify appropriate heat treat requirements for die components
  • Capable of managing  tooling and heat treat suppliers including design, cost and timing
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex casting design problems
  • Competency in Understanding Magmasoft Simulation Results
  • Knowledge of aluminum casting alloys including metallurgy, material properties & heat treat.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Experience buying complex manufacturing equipment.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience with die cast tooling. Ability to manage die design and manufacture of die cast dies and all of its components.
  • Knowledge of tool steel properties & heat treat processes .
  • Knowledge of aluminum cast alloys & heat treat processes.
  • Ability to specify and purchase complex manufacturing equipment.
  • Bachelor degree with a major in engineering or manufacturing or equivalent.
  • Thorough understanding of die cast process.
  • Ability to use Unigraphics CAD software.
  • 3-5 years experience in automotive industry.
  • Ability to travel 25%.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minor or educational focus in metallurgy.
  • Masters Degree in Engineering.
  • 1 -3 years running magma simulation software.
  • 3-5 years in die casting industry.
