Position Description

Engage a Forbes Tate Partners company  seeking a talented Mid-Level WordPress Developer to join our team. As a WordPress Developer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining WordPress-based websites for our clients. You will work closely with project managers, designers, and other developers to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain WordPress websites based on client requirements.

  • Write clean, well-designed code that is optimized for performance and scalability.

  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other developers to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

  • Ensure that websites are responsive and perform well across different devices and platforms.

  • Develop custom themes and plugins to extend the functionality of WordPress.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with WordPress websites.

  • Keep up to date with the latest developments in WordPress and web development in general.

  • Attend team meetings and contribute to discussions on project requirements, development strategies, and best practices.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in WordPress development

  • Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery

  • Experience with MySql databases (comfortable using phpMyAdmin or something similar)

  • Experience with custom theme and plugin development

  • Strong understanding of WordPress architecture and best practices

  • Experience with Gutenberg or other visual page editors

  • Basic knowledge of version control using Git (branching, merging, and resolving merge conflicts) or similar tools

  • Experience working in a team environment and collaborating with other developers, designers, and project managers.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with frameworks such as Twig and Timber

  • Experience with template engine Twig

  • Experience with CSS preprocessors such as SASS or LESS

  • Knowledge of website optimization techniques such as caching, lazy loading, and asset optimization

  • Familiarity with server administration and hosting environments

  • Experience with Vue JS framework

  • Experience using SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol)

  • Experience using Algolia
