A (Registered) Sleep Technologist Polysomnography, also known as a Registered Sleep Technologist, works under the general supervision of the Sleep Medical Director, Sleep Center Manager or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in center, inpatient, diagnostic, therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. A Registered Sleep Technologist is able to perform the duties defined for a Sleep Technologist and is able to provide minimal oversight of other sleep center staff. The sleep technologist is credentialed in sleep technology.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
* Collect, analyze and integrate patient information in order to identify and meet the patient- specific needs (Physical/mental limitations, current emotional/physiological status regarding the testing procedure, pertinent medical/social history), and to determine final testing
parameters/procedures in conjunction with the physician's orders and other documentation. Follows our procedural protocols to ensure the appropriate data collection.
* Applies surface electrodes to the patient according to procedure protocols and accepted published standards. Explain pre-testing, testing, and post-testing procedures to the
* Maintains, prepares and calibrates all the equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning and make adjustments if necessary. Performs appropriate physiologic calibrations to ensure proper signal and makes and documents adjustments if
* Monitors the recording while routinely documenting observations, changes in procedure, and significant events to facilitate scoring. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Over sees the work of Sleep Technicians during night shift and assists in their
High School Diploma, 2 years college preferred. Healthcare and Pediatric experience a plus.
