STAFFING MANAGEMENT SUPPORT
A. Ensures a culture of service and patient-centered care through appropriate supervision, coaching, and recruitment and retention practices.
Coaches and mentors reporting staff to assess skills and abilities, assists in developing individualized plans as indicated.
Creates an atmosphere focused on results, achievement and recognition.
Participates on teams that focus on process improvement, problem solving, and achieving specific results.
Works with Manager - Clinical Registry to ensure that maximum utilization of personnel is accomplished.
2. HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT
A. Follows process that define qualifications, responsibilities, competencies of staff needed to provide care and services that meet the needs of the staff and patients.
B. Provides frequent and clear communication and feedback to staff based on individual needs and job requirements.
C. Administers corrective action as appropriate.
D. Provides or facilitates continuing education/training for team members, with particular focus on quality improvement in teams, use of equipment, interpersonal relationships, customer service, and leadership as assigned or delegated.
E. Holds self accountable for 100% attendance at mandatory education.
F. Assures all new team members successfully complete general and department orientation within designated time frames.
G. Communicate knowledge on all current hospital and department policies and procedures to patient care employees.
H. Promotes confidence in team members through peer recognition and reinforcement of successes by team and its members.
I. Facilitates and fosters ongoing problem solving that utilizes teams and collaboration
3. FISCAL MANAGEMENT
Oversees schedule development for assigned nurses to ensure consistency and financial efficiency.
Works with manager to review productivity report in clinical departments utilizing the Clinical Registry to ensure that resources are utilized in a manner that meets financial expectations.
Acts as financial steward for staffing resource utilization that is aligned with mission, vision and values of CHI St Vincent.
4. MANAGEMENT OF INFORMATION
A. Utilizes data to improve quality of service and outcomes focusing on top indicators for department.
B. Utilizes appropriate reports and data support tools for supervision of clinical resources.
C. Ensures integrity of patient records according to regulatory standards.
D. Maintains flow of information to staff through numerous channels and opportunities.
E. Input of Payroll information into timekeeping system

Works with manager to ensure departmental operations meet goals and objectives.
Ensures that the competence of staff is continually assessed, maintained, demonstrated, and improved continually per Nurse Manager's direction.
Works through challenges and opportunities, addressing issues in an objective manner and responds appropriately to changes in work demands.
Clearly communicates expectations and follow up actions and outcomes to Clinical Leaders, Unit Managers and staff within established timeframes.
Role models effective leadership skills through all activities (verbal and written).
Works with Nurse Manager to meet expectations and deadlines, monitors progress, and intervenes accordingly.
Maintains compliance with all regulatory standards.
Collaborates, defines, promotes and supports a professional practice model for nursing.
Promotes utilization of evidence based practices

Current unencumbered RN licensure to practice in the State of Arkansas. Must sit for professional certification within one year of entering the position.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in a healthcare organization required. Previous clinical management and demonstrated leadership experience preferred. Familiar with scheduling process, staffing assignments, acuity systems and quality of care. Experience in investigating problems and providing solutions.
Physical Requirements: Tasks require hand/eye coordination, ability to see, hear, smell and speak. Physical activities may include balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, grasping, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching standing, sitting, stooping, use of fingers and repetitive movements. May be required to lift weight up to 50 lbs. and push/pull 100-150 lbs. Could be exposed to inside/outside environmental conditions, blood borne pathogens and body fluids, chemical and radiological hazards.
Knowledge and Skills; Must possess strong human relations skills with an ability to handle difficult/sensitive issues with regard to patient/employee confidentiality; ability to motivate others; knowledge of hospital practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to multiple areas of clinical discipline. Attention to detail is crucial. Must possess basic knowledge and functional skillset for the usage of standard Microsoft Windows-based computer applications.
Service Skills: An ability to develop strong relationships with customers (i.e. patients, physicians and supporting departments). Must be able to develop strong relationships with agency partners and contract co-workers to facilitate integration into CHI St Vincent. .
Leadership Expectations: Demonstrated ability to problem solve and be supportive/innovative in the process of change; Demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written; Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills.
