About the Role:

Our Materials Administrator serves as the facility’s operational point of contact for customer orders and/or coordination of warehouse/transportation administration issues to help ensure successful and effcient day to day operations as it relates to customer support regarding delivery of orders. This position will interface internally with various departments in order to fulfill customer obligations and commitments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Traces status of orders.  Contacts and advises customers of any delays in shipment and relays information regarding facility issues which may result in late product or short loads.
  • Analyzes customer forecasting and tracks inventory available in Amcor warehouses.
  • Receives and manages customer orders.  Handles customer calls regarding scheduling and delivery issues.  Clarifies with customer all missing/unclear product information on orders.
  • Oversees materials requirements and identifies all product shortages to appropriate personnel.
  • Generates and updates business reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, including, but not limited to, Sales Reports, Forecast Reports, Activity Reports and Forecast/Actual Reports.
  • Utilize Levels training program to increase technical skill, knowledge and cross training with other Material Coordinator functions (Cycle Counting, Resin Receiving, Customer Service, & Coordinating shipping logistics).
  • Assist Material Handlers as necessary to load/unload trucks or move material.
  • May carry out other projects and tasks as assigned.
  • Attendance in the facility is an essential function of this job.
  • You have the right/responsibility to hold for inspection, any product you feel does not meet customer/company specifications.

  • Make/Review dock time appointments with trucking companies in accordance with schedule.

  • Coordinate and send all necessary documentation to necessary contacts including corporate offices and customers.

  • Contact corporate office on all international shipments and ensure that all necessary documentation is correct and sent to appropriate contacts.

  • Coordinate clerical functions as it relates to filing shipping documents and answering the phone.

  • Serve as a point of contact for handling all facets of the transportation functrion from cutomer orders to deliveries.

  • Ensure necessary paperwork is completed accurately and filed appropriately.

About You (Qualifications):

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.  Associates or Bachelors degree a plus.
  • Communication: Excellent written, verbal and comprehension skills are essential to this position.  Ability to write effective reports, memos and other related business correspondence.  Must be able to handle complaints and confrontation in an effective and productive manner.  Incumbent must be able to communicate and present information effectively across diverse groups of employees and other stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of product lines, prices, delivery times, drop ship items, various marketing promotional services and other related information as required.  Ability to learn and utilize various comupter software applications is reuqired.  Prior experience using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is preferred.  Knowledge of SAP applications is a plus.
  • Reason: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.  Must possess the capability to make decisions and use independent judgment based on the situation, even in the face of adversity and/or production pressures.  Must be able to work a 12-hour production shift schedule (including weekends and possible night shifts).  Incumbent should be willing to demonstrate schedule flexibility for coverage for vacations and other absences.
  • 1-3 Years Customer Service Experience Required - Ideal candidate will have 3+ years experience in customer service in a manufacturing environment.
