Robert Half Finance has a career-building opportunity for a Staff Accountant with experience and skill to join their team on a full-time basis. In this position, the Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will put your skills towards the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and look over schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This El Segundo, California area-based position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. Your responsibilities - Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation - Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll - In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations - Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries - Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP - Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision - Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments - Partake in various department-wide initiatives - Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation - Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request - Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks - Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable - Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on

Job Requirements

- Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement - 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience - experienced organizational, written and verbal communication skills - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics - Spreadsheet and database capabilities - Ability to meet deadlines - Adeptness in month end closings - Accounts Payable (AP) experience - QuickBooks experience desired - Expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR) - Strong familiarity with accounts receivable aging - Demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP - Budget forecasting experience highly desired - Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment - Efficient in ERP systems - Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills - Competent with spreadsheets and databases - Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
