Job Description

Description POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the overall coordination of activities to ensure projects estimates and cost are accurately stated to provide accurate and timely reporting. This involves analyzing, summarizing and reporting data in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Authority to approve or reject project estimate taking into consideration accuracy and completeness of data.
• Establish policies/procedures/guidelines to make sure that all material, labor and other items are accurately reflected in the project cost and in a timely manner.
• Work closely with all departments and project manager concerning problems that may develop and communicate with necessary individuals a course of action to identify and come up with a solution to address these problems in a timely manner.
• Responsible for weekly update of job cost reports using the project templates for reporting to project managers.
• Responsible for monthly reporting of percentage of completion and forecasts to Division Controller. These reports are very time sensitive and require short turnarounds.
• Plans, studies and collects data to determine cost of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor.
• Analyzes data obtained and records results.
• Analyzes changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided to determine effects on costs.
• Analyzes actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic report comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
• Calculates and sets standard labor & burden rates.
• Provides management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
• Supervision of project cost accountants and clerical staff.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• College degree in Business/Accounting and familiarity with the process flow of material.
• Minimum of two (2) years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment with cost accounting.
• Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, database and presentation software. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Glovia preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal skills to communicate cost and financial information across the business.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.
• Good mathematical skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Prolonged sitting.
• Frequent standing and walking.
