Kearney & Company is currently seeking a Senior Associate to join our Bethesda, MD team. The Senior Associate will help develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel and assess clients' satisfaction, demonstrate proficiency with accounting and financial reporting concepts and apply them to client situations, as well as identify and effectively communicate accounting matters to Managers and Principals.

*Demonstrate professionalism and competence in the client's environment

*Foster an efficient, innovative, and team-oriented work environment

*Execute the day-to-day accounting, financial reporting and analysis activities of the engagement

*Assist in drafting and preparing project deliverables

*Assist in researching and documenting explanations for financial statement and footnote fluctuations

*Assist in performing reconciliations and other financial analyses

*Utilize technology to share knowledge with team members, develop skills, and continually learn

*Must be a self-starter, self-motivated, and results-oriented

*Excellent verbal and written communication skills

*Ability to demonstrate an understanding of accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situations

Required Qualifications

*BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting or Business Administration with a major in Accounting

*At least 2 years of accounting and/or auditing experience

*Experience with Federal accounting and financial reporting concepts

*Proficient skills in Excel

*Ability to obtain an interim secret security clearance (US citizenship required).

Preferred Qualifications

*GTAS reporting

*Financial Reconciliations

*Experience preparing/analyzing financial statements

*GAO 2010/2020 Checklists

*USSGL Treasury Financial Manual and posting logic

*FASAB and OMB requirements including Circular A-136

*CPA or the 150 credit hours that are required to be CPA eligible

*Interim Secret clearance preferred
