If you want to take responsibility for an accounting and clerical department, Robert Half Finance is looking for a Controller to join a successful Real Estate Property company. This full-time position is for a Controller who will work in the Coconut Grove, Florida region. This position is for candidates who can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. Candidates who know how to effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services will do well in this role along with creative types who can lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. Major responsibilities - Review and revise deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations - Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities - Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies - Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed - Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts - Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation - Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques - Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis - Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports - Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management - Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings collections, and payroll

Job Requirements

- Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred - CPA or MBA preferred - Comprehensive knowledge of 10 Key Accounting - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field - Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills - Strong communication skills and able to receive criticism well - Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds - Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired - Vow to meet business deadlines - Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills - Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued - Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment - Excellent attention to detail
