TOOL MAKER

A family-owned company, Dynomax designs, manufactures, and develops high-precision machined components, injection molding and tooling, sub-assemblies, automated work cells, specialty machines, and machine tool spindles since 1986. We are seeking an experienced Tool Maker to join our manufacturing team.

Job Responsibilities:

The Tool Maker will manufacture, assemble, and repair high precision injection mold tools. This includes analyzing specifications, setting up and operating machine tools, and fitting and assembling parts to make cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges and hand tools.

  • Study blueprints or specifications and use GD&T to plan sequences of operations for the manufacturing of tools, dies, jigs and molds
  • Perform machining operations and set-up on tool room equipment such as milling equipment, surface grinders, and turning lathes
  • Verify dimensions, alignments, smoothness and clearances of finished parts using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, indicators and microscopes
  • Perform critical bench and assembly operations including filing, grinding, shimming, and adjusting to fit, align, calibrate, adjust, assemble and ultimately finish projects
  • Using hoists, lift, position, and secure machined parts on surface plates or worktables
  • Maintenance and repair of injection molds as well as spare parts management
  • Conduct test runs with completed tools to ensure that parts meet specifications, making adjustments as necessary
  • Work with tool designers to give them technical support as well as coordinate outside repairs and changes

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of tool making techniques and methods
  • Ability to work within tolerances of +/-.0002" on a daily basis
  • Ability to work from drawings, verbal instructions, and specifications to produce precision parts
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment including a microscope
  • Ability to operate all conventional tool room machinery
