Kforce has a client in Alexandria, Virginia (VA) is seeking a Senior Project Accountant/Financial Analyst.
In this highly visible and critical role, you will be tasked with driving predictability, accountability and analysis throughout the portfolio. The Program Financial Analyst will be responsible for all financial aspects of assigned programs including accounting, budgeting, analysis, reporting, forecasting, collaborating with program managers and cost account managers on Estimates-To-Complete (ETC) and Estimates-At-Completion (EAC), invoicing and contract financial closeout.
Major Job Activities:
Responsible for monthly close process, financial reporting, and accounting functions on multiple programs
Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management
Develop, maintain and distribute as-hoc reports and financial models as needed
Responsible for preparing journal entries and monthly account reconciliations
Responsible for the monthly financial statement preparation and analysis - analyzes and documents month over month variances
Responsible for monthly invoices and provides support on contractual data requirements from the customer
Maintains financial project orders and work instructions, developing new ones as required
Performs other duties and assignments as required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years of Accounting/Finance experience
Experience working in Defense/government contract accounting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to interface effectively with personnel at various levels within and outside the organization
Ability to analyze and interpret large volumes of data and provide meaningful commentary on business drivers
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly excel using pivot tables and macros
Strong working knowledge of JAMIS and/or CostPoint
