Position Summary: This position is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and expediting consumable supplies for operations (MRO).
Purchases applicable parts working with Facilities Supervisor for Maintenance Department and all production areas as needed and required by manufacturer's standards.
Establishes minimum/maximum stock levels through communications with the Facilities Supervisor.
Ensures supplies are in stock for all consumable items by communicating with the Facilities Supervisor.
Completes and forwards all requisitions for approval.
Expedites and tracks purchase orders with vendors to ensure on time deliveries.
Maintains Epicor and existing spreadsheets for supply requirements.
Prepares and sends RFQ's (request for quotes) to vendors.
Provides costs for material requirements to Sales Department for customer quotes.
Monitors processes to ensure that the Company is properly managing changes in requirements that affect operations and customer's jobs.
Coordinates communications between Purchasing, Drafting, Engineering, Operations, and Sales when design changes are made that affect material requirements.
Assists in the development and implementation of processes and procedures within the department and with vendors.
Communicates with Operations and Sales to verify that material deliveries meet the Company's processing schedules and customer due dates.
Reviews material requirements and on hand inventory to maintain efficient levels of stock and supply coverage.
Updates spreadsheets, places and accumulates information, and prepares reports necessary for the Purchasing Department operations.
Develops and maintains cost savings plans.
Assists management team on special projects as needed.
Performs other duties as required.
5-7 years recent experience in a Purchasing, Inventory, or Maintenance role within a manufacturing environment.
Must possess strong and effective negotiation skills and be able to build relationships with vendors.
Must have excellent professional written and verbal communications skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail while contributing to the success of the team.
Must have intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Outlook along with experience using an ERP/MRP computer system. Experience using Epicor ERP system is a plus!
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field.
Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm, Overtime and Weekends as needed
