 I. The Opportunity

Under the supervision of the Engineering Manager, the CAD Technician performs a variety of design/drafting activities group including preparing/updating installation drawings for projects, establishing guidelines and procedures for CAD data management, and managing the Engineering file room document control that includes both physical and electronic file storage systems.  Other duties to be performed as assigned.


II. How you will impact Westrock

  • Manage the Engineering file room to keep drawings, equipment information and equipment records current and well organized.   Facilitate providing information to the engineering department, maintenance, operations and outside engineering firms as requested.

  • Develop/revise CAD drawings as required

  • Establish filing guidelines for drawings to maintain up-to-date drawings and equipment information

  • Other duties as required relating to CAD database maintenance, graphic design, etc.

     

    What you will need to succeed 

  • Associate's degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field, plus at least five years of related work experience: or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

  • Experience using Autocad 2D design software (required). 

  • Proficient in AutoCAD.

  • Excellent organizational and communications skills: interpersonal, listening, oral, and written.

  • Skilled in PC usage and associated software including Microsoft Office.

  • Able to generate layout drawings from sketches and specifications.

  • Knowledgeable of standard drafting practices and procedures.

  • Able to work with minimal supervision, efficiently schedule and manage time.


    V. PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • The CAD Technician’s work environment will require some physical activity. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to visit all areas of the plant.
