Development/Project Accountant

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client, a leading regional Real Estate organization seeks a Development Accountant in NYC New York (NY). Responsibilities:- Will be responsible for accurate accounting for various pre-development and development projects
- Focus on preparation, review and analysis of monthly requisitions, loan draws, general ledger accounting, budget analysis and financial statement prep
- Provide accounting, budget and financial reporting for development entities
- Extensive general ledger account analyses and all other accounting procedures required to produce accurate financial statements
- Receives soft costs and other invoices and verify of final AIA G702/703 including roll forward, mathematical accuracy and completeness of support (lien waivers, insurance etc.)
- Create journal entries for accruals and prepare required workpapers and coordination with outside accounting firm
- Prepare bank loan draw request or capital call request to partners
- Attend meetings with bank representatives and project managers/executives
- Monthly accounting close and preparation of financial statements of development entities
- Research and administer contracts and agreements between development entities
REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in Accounting, (CPA a plus)
- A minimum of 3+ years of project accounting experience with at least 2 in development accounting. * Good working knowledge of GAAP Proficient at an intermediate level with MS Excel
- Familiarity with Timberline accounting system (or similar) preferred, but not required
- Strong accounting skills and oral/written communication
- Must be able to analyze raw data and present findings
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
