We are seeking a full-time Float Pool Registered Nurse to join our nursing team at University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center.

The Float Pool offers the new and/or experienced RN an opportunity to practice in a number of world-class specialties. New graduate RNs’ will receive a full 9-month preceptor orientation on both medical-surgical and telemetry units in addition to a year-long nurse residency program. At the successful completion of orientation, you will receive a 22% bonus every pay period for all worked hours including overtime.
Experienced RN’s who apply to the Float Pool are expected to work in at least 2 specialty areas and will receive a preceptor orientation to gain the second specialty. Nurses will work both day and night shift up to a 50% rotation. Come join our float pool!
The Registered Nurse is responsible for patient care in collaboration with interdisciplinary health care providers to assess, plan, intervene, evaluate and document care in an individualized and age appropriate manner which promotes patient safety and healing and according to hospital policy.
What You Need to Be Successful:
2 year / Associate's Degree: Nursing
4 year / Bachelor's Degree: BS in Nursing and/or active pursuit of advanced degree or specialty certification. (Preferred).
State Registered Nurse License and BLS Certification required.
Strong Verbal Communications Skills, Strong Written Communications Skills, Excellent Interpersonal Skills, General Clerical Skills, Basic Computer Skills, Excellent Organizational Skills, Strong Customer Services Skills, Proven Analytical Skills. 0 - 1 year in a health care environment. 1 year of oncology & med- surg experience preferred.
