Position Description
Contributes to the university's mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.

Major/Essential Functions
Applicants should demonstrate strong design skills and have a research and teaching emphasis in one or more of the following areas:
  • Resilient landscapes
  • Urbanization and urban design
  • Landscape performance
  • Landscape technology
Major/essential functions will include teaching, conducting research, and participating in service activities for the Department in the accredited landscape architecture program. Teaching and research areas will be connected to the areas of emphasis listed in the position description. Additionally, this position will engage with students and serve on graduate students project and thesis committees.

Required Qualifications
Academic degree as defined by the academic unit and as appropriate for the position held. Demonstrated record of effectiveness as a teacher, a record of peer reviewed publication and/or peer-reviewed creative activity which has contributed to the discipline or field of study, to the candidate’s intellectual and artistic development, and to the quality of the academic enterprise; a record of professional service appropriate to the discipline; promise of growth in teaching and research or artistic and creative activity.

Preferred Qualifications
Required:
PhD, US professional licensure, or established/extensive track record of teaching.
The ability to successfully teach landscape architecture design studio courses as well as seminars and lecture courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Emerging record of research productivity.

Preferred:
A strong record of significant professional practice and/or scholarly research and teaching experience at undergraduate and graduate levels.
Evidence of successful teaching in landscape architecture.
Record of peer-reviewed research or design awards.
