Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the development of the Company’s tax strategy, documentation of tax policies and develop process controls in compliance over income taxes
Responsible for US domestic and international income tax compliance and including the coordination with outside providers in order to ensure timely, complete and accurate compliance filings
Responsibility for accounting for income taxes including ASC 740 tax provision and the related footnote disclosures
Identify, design and implement process improvements for efficient and effective tax compliance, reporting and planning, especially through technological enhancements
Project responsibility and ownership of use and property and VAT tax functions
Project responsibility and ownership of the preparation and documentation of Research Credit Calculation
Act as the liaison for audits of federal and state income tax and state, local and international filings
Liaison with operating management on tax issues and accounting staff on tax accounting issues
Departmental liaison with IT staff on all technical matters relating to tax applications
Coordination of and management of third party tax advisors
Assist the FP&A and Treasury functions in planning for annual cash flows related to tax
As directed, consult with finance colleagues on payroll, property, sales & use, and local tax issues and informational tax reporting requirements to ensure compliance with relevant statues
Special projects as requested to support a growing bio-tech corporation

Strong interpersonal, written and oral communications skills
Detail-oriented, good analytical and prioritization skills
Must have a demonstrated hands-on approach and success in working in a team-based environment
Ability to function efficiently and independently in a fast-paced, changing environment
Self-motivated and willing to accept temporary responsibilities outside of initial job description
Strong project management skills, with a record of completing complex assignments
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Accounting and/or CPA preferred
Seven years of related experience with at least 3 years in a public accounting firm
Knowledge of conceptual and computational aspects of tax provision, effective rate analysis and financial statement disclosure; understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting and how GAAP relates and impacts tax reporting
FIN 48 analysis and documentation experience
Strong technical knowledge of tax law and its application
International tax experience required
Experience with ERP systems
Project Management, FIN 48, GAAP Accounting, US GAAP
