Job Description

Systems Engineer II Responsibilities

  • Participate in the requirements development for rocket engine test stands with multiple customers
  • Develop, manage, and allocate requirements & interfaces and ensure requirements are correctly linked
  • Carry out systems engineering activities in accordance with system engineering standards and practices
  • Ensure all aspects of the system are working to the correct configuration including drawings, interface control documents, and the design description documents
  • Review verification records (test plans, test reports, analysis reports, inspection reports, etc.) to ensure the appropriate rigor
  • Development and configuration management of products across the product life cycle
  • Act as the negotiator between multiple and sometimes conflicting interests in order to make sure the system as a whole is optimized
  • Effectively communicate development status, risks, opportunities, and challenges

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering or other technical field
  • 2+ years systems engineering experience
  • Knowledge of current systems engineering and integration tools and methodologies
  • Good communication and writing skills, ability to work effectively in teams, demonstrated execution and coordination skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team
  • Exhibited ability to adapt in changing environment
  • Experience with systems engineering tools such as DOORS, DNG/RQM or similar
  • Desire to work in development, test, and production phases of a product lifecycle
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to work onsite at Redstone Arsenal
  • Must pass standard our client’s background check for IT access

Desired

  • Experience in reliability, maintainability and supportability analysis and execution
  • System Safety analysis experience including Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, and Functional Hazard Analysis
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as Confluence and JIRA
  • Demonstrated configuration management experience
