Based out of the 350+ bed acute care hospital, the Hospital Mammography Technologist will work in the Imaging Center alongside a dedicated team of specialized technologists. The Hospital Mammography Technologist will be specialized in breast imaging, administering x-rays and radiopaque substances, and performing radiography and mammography procedures using Digital Mammography (FFDM) and Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (3D Mammography). Responsibilities of the Hospital Mammography Technologist include preparing the room, equipment, medicine and materials required, disinfecting equipment and x-ray machines, maintaining supply stock, preparing chemical mixtures for mammography biopsies and exams, assisting with performance and quality control testing, adjusting equipment and identifying the proper technique and image quality prior to transmitting exams to PACS, and ensuring PACS and radiologists received all transferred images. Additionally, the Hospital Mammography Technologist will educate new-hires, adhere to department and hospital policy and procedures, cross collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and utilize the PACS system.
