Corporate Claims Manager

Position Summary

The Corporate Claims Manager is responsible for directly handling liability claims which includes products liability, general liability and auto liability, as well as oversight of workers compensation and the Short-term & Long-term Disability program.

Responsibilities
  • Perform financial analysis including trend and other data-driven analysis as required for effective program management.
  • Manage analysis and develop raw data to measure risk management performance across the company.
  • Oversee third-party administrator to ensure proper claim handling techniques are being adhered to and service instructions are being followed.
  • Coordinate and perform investigations and evaluate claims and suits through contact with insureds, claimants, witnesses and experts.
  • Collaborates with in-house and outside legal counsel to assure proper claims handling on how to defend and manage claims
  • Review and approve changes to reserve amounts or payment requests based on medical necessity and appropriateness; make settlement recommendations 
  • Review, approve and perform claim negotiations and claim settlements 
  • Utilize negotiation skills to develop complex settlement packages
  • Work with actuaries to ensure all claims data is transmitted properly for preparation of actuarial report

Experience and Skill Required
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of five (5) years of industry experience in claims administration, loss control, or insurance
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with ability to work collaboratively and in partnership with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage and execute multiple, competing priorities effectively.
