Covestro, a world-leading manufacturer of high-tech polymer materials for key industries is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team at our Sheffield, MA facility. Sheffield is a picturesque New England town located in the Housatonic River Valley of Berkshire County in Western Massachusetts. A combination of wide open river valley, mountain vistas and active farmland makes Sheffield one of the most scenic towns in the Commonwealth. Located on US Route 7, Sheffield is approximately one hour from Hartford, Springfield and Albany, and two and one-half hours from Boston and New York City. This position is responsible for leading the organization to be the world-class leader in quality with best in class processes that consistently exceed customer quality and service expectations.
• Lead initiatives toward quality improvement and customer satisfaction
• Create/revise QMS/ISO documents as needed to ensure documents remain current and alignment with business and customer requirements and expectations
• Comply with the QMS and related ISO procedures
• Provide timely and valuable feedback of product and service rejections and concerns to the organization and lead/facilitate RCA/CA requests to address complaints and in support of continuous improvement
• Foster a proactive mind-set of a preventative action culture and one that continues to challenge the status quo
• Works closely with the operations team to develop methods and practices to continuously improve product quality and reliability and to reduce variability
• Responsible for analyzing quality data, reporting and recommending corrective actions
• Lead the self-assessment audit program and coordinate/manage internal and external audits
• Contact customers to determine and help troubleshoot issues Who you are

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Management or related field required along with 4 – 6 years of quality experience preferred.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment required.
• Able to facilitate and lead QMS/ISO 9001 and audits
• Trained in Lean 6 Sigma techniques. Green or black belt certification preferred.
• RCA/CA lead and facilitation experience is a must. #LI-MM1 #CB
