About Us 
The Yahoo Brand Creative Team is a band of designers, writers, coders, photographers, videographers, strategists and producers obsessed with dreaming up new ways to bring brand goals to life with big ideas, bold creative, and a good laugh or two along the way. Our day-to-day spans the gamut from B2B branding initiatives for Yahoo to consumer campaigns for our brands like Yahoo Sports, TechCrunch, Yahoo Finance, MAKERS and more. We also support internal events ranging from Happy Hours to Bring Your Kids to Work Day to product launch events that livestream across the globe. 

Responsibilities will include engineering ownership in a complex client side application, including new feature work, improvements on existing code, debugging and investigation of user issues, participation in code reviews, designing and shipping the product. Contribute to standard methodologies and culture of the team. 

A lot about you 
As a Front End Software Engineer at Yahoo you will specialize in building high performance, scalable, cross-browser compatible, accessible and elegant web applications with Node.js, React.js, Next.js, Drupal, HTML5, CSS3, Jest, AWS, Enzyme and other technologies. You will work hand in hand with world-class teams of other software engineers and architects as well as backend engineers. 
 

Qualifications 

• 5 years experience in web development and Front End engineering 
• Experience with software engineering processes, tools, methods, test development 
• Experience with Front End engineering skills including Javascript, CSS3, HTML5, PHP 
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks and libraries (e.g. Node.js and React) 
• Experience with GitHub and ability to solving conflicts 
• Experience with development on AWS and Docker
• Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
• Experience in all aspects of software development including architecture and design, implementation and production support 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, e.g., the ability to explain the work in plain language 
• Execution experience in fast-paced environments and performance driven culture 
• Familiarity with cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them. 
• Customer-focused, react well to changes, work with teams 
• Self-starter, team player

The compensation for this position ranges from $111,000.00 - $231,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
