Job Description

The Maintenance and Reliability organization drives tactical support and strategic improvements for the site manufacturing facilities.  This position is for a technically strong engineer with effective communication and leadership skills who has high energy and motivation. The position will be working with maintenance, reliability, operations, and engineering teams in a plastics resin manufacturing facility with one of the worlds leading thermoplastic producers. The facility operates over 7,000 assets/machineries with varying degrees of automation and complexity.  Equipment include extruders, blenders, packaging equipment, motors, blowers, pumps, valves, distillation columns, agitators, dryers, filters, centrifuges, etc all operating 24 hours a day. 

The individual will be working independently using structured tools and reliability methodologies combined with analytical skills to evaluate equipment data and failure history to troubleshoot and determine root causes of failure to establish effective maintenance strategies and standards to continuously improve equipment reliability.

Essential Function (Responsibilities): 
• Supporting and improving safe operations of the site.
• Evaluating and developing solutions to drive uptime and stability of plant site.
• Work with site teams and maintenance professional improve reliability of process equipment.
• Provide technical support in areas of expertise to troubleshoot and identify root causes of failures and determine best strategy to improve reliability.
• Mentor several maintenance professionals, engineers and reliability specialists to improve their skills .in trouble-shooting, root cause analysis, and development of proactive maintenance strategies. 
• Develop maintenance, construction and equipment standards as needed.
• Function as the point person to address technical issues in several classes of equipment as the subject-matter-expert.
• Lead several on-going Asset Reliability (AR) Work Processes simultaneously – FMEA, MTA (Maintenance Task Analysis), sporadic or chronic RCA, RCM, etc.
• Implementing small & large projects / process improvements as appropriate.
• Interface with internal and global teams to translate improvements.

Job Requirements

Include a proven record of accomplishments in an industrial/manufacturing work environment. Candidates must be hands-on engineers who can make a positive impact, while working closely with diverse teams of maintenance & engineering professionals. Key requirements include:

1. 10 years of experience in engineering (preferably maintenance or reliability) in a manufacturing/process oriented industry
2. Demonstrated interest and accomplishments in improving equipment reliability
3. BS or MS in engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
4. Strong communication and leadership skills
5. Demonstrated ability to effectively work with all levels in the organization
6. Strong analytical skills and ability to effectively retrieve and analyze data
7. Working knowledge of equipment maintenance trouble-shooting and best practices
8. Demonstrated working knowledge of ASME, API, ANSI and AWS standards

•Certification and working knowledge of reliability methodologies (RCA, RCM, FMEA, RBI, RIS)
