Sodexo is seeking experienced General Manager / Chef Manager for a Corporate Services client, Hikma located in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. This unit is a pharmaceutical manufacturing company which operates food service on three shifts. This position will work the M-F, morning shift 6-4PM but may need to cover other shifts as needed. This position will be hands on cooking 25% of the time and 75% managing the front of house and operations. The unit's service includes a cafe with deli, grill, entree, simply to go offering and catering services.  

The General Manager / Chef Manager’s, main responsibilities is the daily operation of a full-service café.  The candidate must have food and labor cost control experience, exceptional customer service, hands-on cooking experience with leadership skills. Reporting to the VPO, the General Manager / Chef Manager will have oversight of 5 Sodexo frontline(hourly) employees and manage roughly $2.5M annual managed volume. Position is responsible for directing all contract management service operations and client relations of the café.

The ideal candidate has:

  • a culinary background with cafeteria / restaurant style dining experience;
  • excellent hospitality, leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of standards and implements company policies
  • the demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities; and/ or
  • excellent leadership and communication skills.

The successful candidate will:

  • manage the daily food production including production planning and controls and cook if needed;
  • ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented;
  • have a passion for food; and/or
  • have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 2 years         

Basic Functional Experience  - 2 years
