SQA Test Engineer

For the dedicated Associate Test Engineer, Scientific Games offers the opportunity to take your career to the next level. For the motivated Test Engineer you will be responsible for managing and facilitating the investigation and resolution of field incident reports. Interface with Sales, Product Development and Field Operations staff to provide containment, corrective and preventative actions in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have proficient understanding of the software test methodologies and procedures in order to ensure testing efficiency and high level of quality. You will participate in mentoring Associate SQA and SQA Engineers and organize and lead inter-departmental project meetings.​

Job Requirements

SQA Test Engineer

For the dedicated Associate Test Engineer, Scientific Games offers the opportunity to take your career to the next level. For the motivated Test Engineer you will be responsible for managing and facilitating the investigation and resolution of field incident reports. Interface with Sales, Product Development and Field Operations staff to provide containment, corrective and preventative actions in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have proficient understanding of the software test methodologies and procedures in order to ensure testing efficiency and high level of quality. You will participate in mentoring Associate SQA and SQA Engineers and organize and lead inter-departmental project meetings.​

As an Associate Test Engineer based in our Las Vegas NV office, you will be entrusted with :

  •  Review engineering customer support and incident reports, pursue data from subject matter experts, isolate root cause, and determine corrective actions
  • Identify and recommend available workarounds, proper containment actions, and communicate impact assessment​
  •  Participate in the deployment strategy for New Product Introduction (NPI) activities as part of NEST.
  • Test and Validate fixes to field issues
  • Follow Work Instructions on a daily basis 
  • Establish key contacts to facilitate investigations {Product Management, Sales, Systems Engineering, OS Dev, Game Dev, and Field Operations} and communicate and resolve all reported issues in a timely manner 
  •  Provide a weekly project status report on open investigations and NEST projects

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the causal analysis and determine appropriate preventative actions
  • Participate in the research and evaluation of new WMS product to prepare for potential field deployment inquiries
  • Participate as an active member for Product Development process improvement initiatives

The education and skill set we are looking for to become be a part of our team includes:

  •  Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred 

Required Experience:  

  • 1+ year’s experience relevant to Engineering or System Test


Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Real-time Embedded Systems preferred
  • Gaming industry experience preferred


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Understanding of computer operation, principles of computer hardware, software test methodologies/procedures and the overall product development lifecycle 
  • Knowledge and experience using Linux/Unix a plus
  • Academic and/or work experience with C++, C#, Python, Unity, Windows Embedded,  SQL databases, computer networking and protocols a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Proficiency with Agile, JIRA, Quality Center and Serena Team Track and Visual Studio a plus
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Proficient at providing input and potential solutions to identified issues
  • Results oriented, Risk Taking and extensive multi-tasking ability
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment 
  • Detailed oriented and capable of working and completing tasks with minimal supervision
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with other team members
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Office environment.  Significant computer use.
