Fitesa is a global leader in nonwoven fabric solutions, specializing in providing innovative fabrics the hygiene, medical, and industrial markets. Our location in Washougal, WA, has an excellent opportunity for an Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position involves a wide range of responsibilities, including installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production and facility equipment. The technician is expected to follow safety protocols and utilize predictive and preventative maintenance systems and processes to contribute to the overall success of Fitesa's business objectives.



Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance Technicians perform preventive maintenance and skilled repairs on complex electrical and mechanical production equipment and systems. Follows standard procedures to monitor equipment for performance, safety, and effectiveness. Being a Maintenance Technician includes performing equipment failure analysis to complete preventive and unscheduled maintenance. Troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment problems. Additionally, Maintenance Technicians log equipment modifications and maintenance details in the designated system. Follow all safety procedures. The position reports to the Maintenance manager. The Maintenance Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Processes a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Associates Degree in a Technical field strongly preferred. One to three plus years manufacturing maintenance experience and/or relevant field.

Demonstrated ability and willingness to work as a team with other technicians and operators to ensure line goals are met; flexibility to help with packaging duties and/or other lines as needed.

Demonstrated familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment preferably of a large size, high speed nature.

Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills

Strong organization skills with attention to detail

Possesses a quality and customer-focused mindset.

Willingness and ability to train, motivate, and coach other team members.

Able to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Familiar with air and water pollution control technology and federal, state and community regulatory agency workings

Willingness and ability to learn and perform in other functions in the plant.

Thorough knowledge of the occupation hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties.

Willing and able to work flexible hours including rotating shifts as needed.

Possess communication skills to relate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.


Technical Competencies:

Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in electrical and/or mechanical maintenance.

Basic electrical skills

Basic mechanical skills

Basic electromechanical skills

Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office

Ability to understand and interpret process settings and center lines

Ability to use a calculator

Ability to learn and become proficient with FIRM, Paylocity and other internal database and tracking software

Ability to read and interpret Fitesa product codes, production schedules, and operations documents.

Advanced troubleshooting skills and good mechanical abilities

Ability to apply basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

Ability to read and interpret measurement from a ruler, tape measure, or other measuring device in standard and metric systems

Statistical Analysis skills with the ability to establish and audit against goals



Physical Demands:

This position requires frequently lifting and/or moving up to 25 - 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The position requires frequent lifting, walks and stands for long periods of time, and performs strenuous physical labor under extreme temperatures. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
