Payroll Administrator

Position Summary:
The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for the accurate and timely completion of two multi-state payrolls, union and non union.
Primary Position Responsibilities:
*Ensuring the accurate calculation of pay in accordance with company policies. Administering garnishments and liens in a timely manner.
*Analyzing and interpreting company policies and government regulations impacting the processing of payroll. Ensuring harmonization of payroll policies throughout the company.
*Preparing and reviewing tax and accounting reports to ensure GL and bank accounts balance.
*Producing compensation and payroll reports to support management reporting, forecasting and ad hoc requests.
*Driving automation and process improvement initiatives throughout the payroll cycle.
*Responding to state and local agency inquiries and resolving accordingly.
*Completing quarter-end and year-end payroll wage & tax reviews/submissions to ensure accuracy; preparing W2 and other filings.
*Administering retirement plan feeds, distributions, company contributions and assisting in annual retirement plan 5500 audit.
*Answering employee payroll questions, resolving problems related to access, and orienting newly-eligible employees.
*Managing ADP functions related to payroll administration, including setting up onboarding processes, testing system functionality, reporting on benefit enrollments, and working with employees to provide system support and troubleshoot system problems.
*Coordinating payroll system conversions and system upgrades.
*Administration and payment of monthly union dues
Position Qualifications:
*A minimum of five years of comprehensive multi-state payroll processing experience, including at least five years in an ADP environment.
*A general understanding of corporate benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life and 401(k).
*Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality with highly- sensitive information and adhere to data privacy and internal compliance requirements.
