Position Overview:
The Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships is responsible for leading Community Behavioral Health in developing and implementing strategies that promote viability and success in the changing health care environment. The Senior Director, Business Development and Managed Care Strategies develops and oversees strategies to assist the agency as it transforms and strengthens its partnerships and managed care operations to ensure long-term sustainability.
Essential Functions:
- Work with the CEO and executive management team to develop and implement strategies to strengthen and promote viability and success in the changing health care environment.
- Take the lead role in:
- Identifying interim and longer-term strategies to help CBH survive and thrive by offering innovative approaches to managed care that maximize value for Medicaid members and address the social determinants of health.
- Identifying the strengths, barriers, and risks associated with short- and long-term strategic initiatives related (but not limited) to financial and legal issues, reputational, and the continuity of care for members.
- Establishing effective external relationships with stakeholders, partners, and potential partners to develop innovative strategic options that advance the long-term success for the organization.
- Oversee the development of stakeholder planning efforts to include partners or potential partners, members, advocacy groups, the provider community, and regulators to help inform strategic planning and guide implementation of resulting initiatives.
- Establish priorities, strategies, and measurement tools for long-term organizational goals and business development efforts.
- Align business development efforts with the organization’s priorities and strategic plan.
Position Requirements:

Education: Master’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, public administration or similar degree.

Relevant Work Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of executive level healthcare management experience, preferably in a managed care organization, commercial insurance, or public behavioral health care service delivery system. Candidates must have demonstrated leadership abilities and success in developing and/or leading strategic projects, such as innovative programs or developing additional business lines. Experience leading an organization through change and transformations is preferable.

- Thorough understanding of:
- Health insurance—principles, policies, and licensing;
- Managed care functions—member services, care management/utilization management, network management, quality improvement and management
- Organization of integrated delivery systems;
- Medicaid and other healthcare financing
- Prior experience working in organizational transformations and ability to lead and direct change initiatives and innovative programming
- Ability to engage, communicate, and interact effectively with external and internal executive level staff and other staff within organizations
- Thorough understanding of healthcare operations and practices, including innovative and evidence-based practices and financing strategies
- Knowledge of healthcare policies and trends at the federal, state, and local levels, including challenges and opportunities
