Job Description

A key forged metal product operation within a Global Metal Products Manufacturer is seeking a Sr. Process Metallurgical Engineer / Leader, to join their growing organization.  The Process Metallurgical Engineer's primary purpose is to develop, monitor, and improve product value streams to ensure they are maximizing output with regard to operational efficiency. They will actively participate in plant and department level changes to product and process to ensure outcomes and their impact on the business are reviewed and validated across functional boundaries. They will also be responsible developing, implementing and maintaining a systems approach for CIV’s/COV’s using statistical tools, such as SPC, MSA, etc…. in alignment with the needs of the Business and Customers.

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.  A Master's degree is a plus, but not required.
  • Must have at least 5+ years of Process Manufacturing experience of a forged metal product made of Steel, Aluminum, Brass, Titanium, or some other metal.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to lead a diverse group, manage a complex project portfolio, and manage to safety, financial and team performance objectives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills needed to manage and collaborate with internal and external resources is required.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to prioritize needs based on financial and business impacts is required.
  • Strong facilitative leadership skills is required.
  • Ability to manage complex projects across multiple departments and functions is required.
  • Ability to drive behavioral changes through formalized methods and approaches is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to network effectively within the business unit and to stakeholders and collaborators outside the team is required.
  • Up to 15% of travel will be required – International if Required
  • Advanced certification Quality Engineer, Quality Manager, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt are strongly preferred, but are not required.
