Summary

We’re a fast-growing SaaS organization seeking a Chief Marketing Officer to join our leadership team. The CMO will develop and execute a B2B strategic marketing plan focused demand generation for our two products, OnBoard and OnSemble. You’ll be responsible for leading our brand work and enhancing our demand generation model. You’ll work closely with our sales leader, so you’ll need to be a collaborative team player. We’re seeking colleagues who are hungry and humble. We’re headquartered in downtown Indianapolis and prefer candidates who either live in the area or are willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic marketing plan that results in substantial revenue growth for the organization and brand transformation
  • Work closely with the CEO, and sales and product executive leaders to provide direction and insight on go-to-market strategies, buyer personas and behaviors, category awareness, purchase intent, industry insights and competitive analysis
  • Lead a marketing function that exhibits disciplined execution, planning, budgeting, managing, and analyzing performance
  • Talent Management, including coaching, mentoring and org design, of the Marketing organization to scale and operate at a high level of productivity, engagement, and efficiency
  • Oversee all external communications activities, including press releases, customer newsletters and company announcements
  • Partner with HR on internal communications and employer brand
  • Define buyer personas, build buyer journey maps, and create targeted messaging and campaigns
  • Develop and execute successful demand generation programs
  • Effectively measure ROI of the brand, effectively communicate that ROI and create brand advocates in the market; build and grow a client reference/advocacy program
  • Create and implement effective sales and marketing tools, including management and development of sales collateral, presentations, client success stories and other sales tools to enhance sales team efforts
  • Execute an Analysts Relation (AR) program strategy to build and maintain strong relationships with top-tier and specialist analyst firms and influencer community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field required; MBA preferred
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in marketing; 2+ yrs with international segments
  • Significant and recent experience as a CMO or Senior Marketing leader in a SaaS B2B sales environment required
  • Proven success in driving scale in emerging categories and brands
  • Excellent strategic thinking and analytical skills
  • Advanced knowledge of best practices in B2B SaaS marketing, including digital marketing and lead generation
  • Thorough understanding of and experience utilizing marketing automation tools and other technology to support the requirements of the demand generation plan
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other executives and team members
  • Proven success supporting sales organizations with innovative marketing programs and pipeline-building activities that complement company sales goals and initiatives
  • A proven track record of motivating and developing a high-performing marketing team
  • Excellent project management, planning and budgeting skills
  • Ability to manage analyst relationships
  • Knowledge of marketing KPIs and analytics with the ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Experience with major analyst firm business models, processes and online resources
