Description

POSITION SUMMARY: 
The primary role of this position is to implement domestic service plans for an assigned region.  The Divisional Service Manager is responsible for hiring, training, directing and evaluating Senior and Lead Field Service Technicians in the efficient and timely execution of Service commitments to Hach customers.
   
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with the Senior Manager, Field Service in the development and implementation of regional budgets, growth targets, and other tactical and strategic initiatives.
  • Manage assigned service staff by establishing annual goals; hiring and training new associates; and coaching, monitoring and appraising individual performance.
  • Serves as an escalation point of contact, providing expertise and decision making to both internal and external customers, by prioritizing schedules and driving growth.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key customers by making periodic visits, exploring specific needs, resolving problems, and establishing service strategies.  
  • Collect and report information on all competitive activity, business opportunities, trends and results within the assigned market.  
  • Frequent overnight travel.
  • Participates in national and regional conferences.  
  • Provide pricing direction and delegation of expenditure authority to assigned Service staff.

Qualifications

  • Prefer a BA, BS or MS degree in Business, Chemistry, Biology, Electronics or Environmental Science or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office  and Oracle
  • Proven experience in management or a leadership role
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a good motor vehicle driving record
  • Must be willing and able to travel extensively
  • The work environment for this position is both office and field service activity.  The Divisional Service Manager must maintain a home-office.  The field service activity will take this individual into customers’ locations and moderate physical activity (e.g. lifting/carrying of materials) occurs.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
