JOB SUMMARY

The Executive Director is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations, achieving and maintaining rental capacity, achieving high resident satisfaction and quality care/services, ensuring compliance, providing excellent care, generating respect in the community, ensuring smooth operations, sufficient profitability and census, and for meeting all expectations established by the ownership. The Executive Director works closely with the RCFE Administrator on the day to day basis to ensure proper resident care. The Executive Director sets the tone and displays the vision for team members to follow.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Operating the facility in accordance with established, regulation, law, policy, program and budget.
  • Complying with all licensing requirements pertaining to certified Administrators reports and delegate all RCFE responsibilities to Administrator.
  • Overseeing the day to day provision of outstanding care and supervision of all residents.
  • Being present in the facility during normal business hours, and at a minimum, the number of hours required to ensure that the facility is operated efficiently and in compliance with all current laws and the regulations of the Department of Social Services.
  • Overseeing and delegating to the HR Manager on recruiting and hiring qualified staff and terminating unsatisfactory staff.
  • Informing Community Care Licensing of required information, when such reporting is necessary.
  • Ensuring that a practical, appropriate, and regulatory compliant training program and schedule is developed and adhered to and oversee all training. Manage all management meetings and meeting regularly with facility staff to discuss operations.
  • Ensuring that the licensee is kept abreast of any changes in regulation, any development in caregiving procedures that may enhance resident care, and any necessary interpretations of recognized standards of care and supervision. The Administrator will also keep the licensee informed of the general operation of the facility.
  • Overseeing resident status and assisting the residents with activities of daily living and medications as allowed by law and regulation.
  • Oversee pre-placement appraisals to identify any needs, and ensuring that all services are provided that the resident requires to meet these needs, including maintaining good mental health and good physical well-being. Determine resident satisfaction with service programs and amend those programs as needed.
  • Scheduling staff work hours and ensure all staff is scheduled to ensure adequate staffing to provide outstanding care and supervision.
  • Supervising and coordinating care. Developing a plan of operation for the facility that will ensure the facility is in compliance and ensuring that all staff are familiar with their duties, responsibilities, line of supervision, and facility policies and procedures. Ensuring that each staff member is responsible for a fair and equitable workload.
  • Ensuring that the facility is properly stocked with food, supplies, hygiene items, first aid supplies, etc.
  • Recognizing any unmet needs and assisting the resident to relocate to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Utilization of available Community Resources such as the senior center, medical professionals, community centers, ect.
  • Investigation and correcting any resident/family/community complaints and keeping the licensee informed of disposition of complaints.
  • Ensuring that assistance is given to residents with arrangement of transportation.
  • Ensuring that an outstanding activity program is developed and implemented.
  • Delegate and authorize one or more staff member to assume the full-time responsibility of overseeing our medication program. This person or persons shall have the responsibility for assuring that reach resident receives needed first aid and needed emergency medical services and for assisting residents as needed with self-administration of medications.
  • The names of the staff member(s) that are responsible and the designated procedures shall be documented and made known to all residents and staff.
  • Reports any suspicion or evidence of elder abuse, mistreatment or neglect as outlines in Personnel Policies.
  • Interview families, resident, responsible party prior to admission to ensure appropriate placement and ensure resident needs are met.
  • Perform all performance appraisals for every manager.
  • Perform "Aging" Alzheimer's training to support group, families and care staff.
  • Monitor activities, assess our activities programs to ensure in update and satisfactory.

SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE

  • Be at least (21) years of age.
  • Four years of college with graduate school; at least three years of experience providing residential care to the elderly; or equivalent education and experience as approved by the licensing agency.
  • Knowledge of the requirements for providing care and supervision appropriate to the residents.
  • Knowledge of and ability to conform to the applicable laws, rules and regulations.
  • Ability to maintain or supervise the maintenance of financial and other records.
  • Ability to direct the work of others and to provide the necessary leadership for measurable growth and satisfaction in performing the work.
  • Be of good character and a continuing reputation of personal integrity.
  • Be in good health, and physically and mentally capable of performing assigned tasks. Good physical health shall be verified by a health screening performed by a physician not more than (6) months prior to or (7) days after employment.
  • Demonstrates freedom from pulmonary tuberculosis by a health screening performed by a physician not more than (6) months prior to or (7) days after employment
  • Has current Adult First Aid card upon hire and maintains current status throughout employment.
  • Must be criminally cleared by DOJ and FBI via the Live-Scan process prior to initial presence in the facility.
  • Must have a clean driving record as per the insurance carrier's policy.
  • Ability to operate vehicles.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stoop, carry, bend, squat, kneel, crouch, climb, grip, reach, drive, push and pull.
  • Ability to lift overhead, lift to waist high and lift to floor level.
  • Required to use fine motor and manual dexterity skills in writing, keyboarding and grasping.
