Assignment Title: Business Development/ Proposal Development Consultant Department/Location: Business Development Technical Point of Contact: Director, Business Development Type: Consultant Classification: Consultancy Please note this consultancy is for a period of 1-3 months and is 75% - 100% full time. Overview: International Business and Technical Consultants, Inc. (IBTCI), a US-based international development consulting company, is seeking a dynamic Business Development/Proposal Development Consultant with experience to work in our Vienna, VA home office or remotely in the DMV Area. This position will be assisting with full life-cycle proposal management including coordination of color review meetings. Responsibilities Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities Lead capture activities, including conducting research, analyzing competition and potential partners, etc.
Read and interpret solicitations to identify critical items required for compliant responses.
Help develop win themes.
Coordinate live full life-cycle proposals, ensuring timeliness and compliance of technical and cost proposals by providing oversight on proposal outlines, calendars, compliance checklists, recruitment, trackers, etc.
Facilitate white boarding sessions.
Lead proposal color review meetings.
Assist with all proposal components working in collaboration with the BD and Technical teams.
Ensure technical cost proposals meet all solicitation requirements.
Coordinate with business development team and other departments as needed
Any other job duties as assigned.
This position does not authorize/require the consultant to directly communicate with IBTCI clients.
This position does not authorize/require the consultant to have decision making authority on final work product. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: At least 8years of business development experience.
At least 3 years of experience with USAID proposal Submissions. Ability and willingness to work with all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated experience with US donor-funded RFP/RFA/RFQs, particularly USAID, US DoS, and MCC.
Demonstrated ability to manage proposals, including analysis of RFP, translation into a work structure breakdown, development and cost proposal management.
Excellent English writing and editing skills.
Oral and written fluency in English required; fluency in another language preferred. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Concentration in International Development, International Business, Marketing or a related field preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership abilities.
Strong multi-tasking capabilities.
In-depth proposal management skills strongly preferred. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in International Affairs, International Development, Economics, Business Administration, English or related field. Working Environment: Work is typically performed in a corporate office environment, it will begin with remote work until COVID-19 restrictions change. Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs. Supervisory Responsibility: This position does have supervisory responsibilities. Travel: International travel may be required and may include travel to fragile and/or conflict-prone zones.
