Wire Harness Supervisor

Nesco Resource is working with an established Tier 1 supplier to the Heavy Equipment Mobile OEM and Automotive OEM markets that is in need of an experienced Wire Harness Department Supervisor

Products and capabilities include, but are not limited to:


  • 'Turn key' operator cabs, control panels, electronics, instrument panels and wire harnesses. 

  • Maintain work flow and execute production schedule according to proper safety, quality, schedule and cost. This involves technical leadership on the shop floor, assigning and supervising manufacturing personnel, and monitoring progress the builds.

  • Act as the primary technical interface on new and existing wire harness builds. 

  • Responsible for establishing build drawings, notes and other data from customer information. 

  • Work with manufacturing personnel on shop floor to develop process flows, job set-up, sampling and validation, proper tooling and all other build-related concerns. 

  • Establish the proper training required with necessary personnel to build harnesses successfully. 

  • Develop standard operation procedures as required.

  • Enforce systems, policies and procedures set in place. 

  • Initiate and foster a spirit of cooperation and performance in the department.

  • Help coach, counsel and discipline personnel as required with support of Manufacturing Manager.

  • Plan, monitor and evaluate they build results.

  • Report build progress on frequent basis. 

  • Study and assist in development of build practices.

  • Make improvements with support of technical team as applicable. 

  • Input, report and monitor efficiencies/hours required to build products.

  • Ensure operation of tools and equipment by communicating for maintenance and repairs as well as evaluating new equipment, tools and techniques. 

  • Help resolve personnel issues by analyzing, investigating and identifying issues and recommending actions to Human Resources and Manufacturing Manager.

  • Compile, initiate, sort and analyze production data as required.

  • Answer questions and respond to internal requests. 

  • Fulfill internal documentation for inventory control and scrap as necessary. 

  • Assist with training of existing and new staff.

  • Sttend educational and training workshops as required.


Skills and qualifications:


  • Min 5 years' experience in supervision of manufacturing operation, preferably complex assembly and/or electrical products.

  • Must have prior wire harness experience. 

  • Experience with process improvement, production planning and supervision of personnel in operation of over 15 people is required.

  • High school degree required; Associates/Bachelor degree is preferred.

  • Good judgement and attention to detail is required. 

  • Ability to operate in a systematic manner is required, particularly with ISO 9001 standards.
