Nova Biomedical is hiring a Group Leader on our Reagent Packaging team on-site in our Waltham, MA facility. The Group Leader will direct the packaging operations to assure all quality and production goals are met in packaging, will record all pertinent information as required in various assembly procedures and logs as needed, and will represent packaging in all aspects for daily Reagent activities. Other responsibilities include:
- Overseeing packaging department and assuring that procedures are followed, area inspections are enforced, label/component reconciliation accuracy, control of printer materials, packaging line setup, and device history records are complete and accurate.
- Training and guidance of all packaging personnel on all aspects of packing operations.
- Performing SAP transactions as needed for all work orders.
- Managing designated corrugated and non-inventory items that are used in the packaging processes.
- Ensuring the completion of Assembly Procedure and reconciliation of components at the conclusion of packaging process.
- Ensuring all post packaging activities/operations are performed including metrics and logs.
- Overseeing maintenance of packaging area and equipment including daily cleaning, cleaning between batches, periodic maintenance/calibration work orders.
- Overseeing management of waste streams that are generated in the process of packaging.
- Looking for opportunities to continuously improve the Packaging operation.
- Performing in-process inspection and chips/pod/RFID programming of product during packaging and documenting as needed pertinent information required in Assembly Procedure.
- Working and troubleshooting various packaging equipment such as automated/manual tap machines, manual pallet trucks, forklift, conveyor, flow racks, and other packaging devices as needed.
Qualifications:
- Read and write English and follow written/verbal instructions.
- Perform basic math and counting.
- Working knowledge of Quality System Regulations (QSR).
- Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
- Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
- Working knowledge of SAP.
- Basic knowledge of waste management as it relates to Reagent Packaging.
- Basic knowledge of training process.
- Must be able to perform tasks that may involve for extended periods of time standing, sitting, pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, turning, climbing steps and carrying up to 25 pounds several times/hours a day.
- Require repetitive use of arms/wrist/hands while setting up/working with equipment/computer throughout the day.
- Will require use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and may include, but not limited to, safety glasses, safety shoes, lab coat, bouffant, gloves, hearing protection, face shield, nuisance mask.
- Must have good hand/eye coordination and visual acuity.
- Must be able to distinguish color.
Skills and Competencies:
- Working knowledge of computers and MS Office (Word and Excel).
- Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal leadership skills.
- Accuracy and attention to details in documentation completion.
- Ability to interpret written procedures effectively for assembly.
- Basic knowledge of MasterControl is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of 5S desired.
- Basic knowledge of NCMR and MRB process.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate degree course work is a plus.
- 2-4 years experience in a comparable packaging environment is required.
- 2-4 years experience in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment is desired.
- Prior leadership experience is desired.
- Working knowledge of SAP operation is desired.
