RELOCATION: Assistance Available.
Client wants a true manufacturing engineer, someone who is used to improving the production line, but has a solid understanding of the equipment piece of it all. However, he doesn't want just an equipment engineer who's only focus is to fix or improve equipment. The focus needs to be on improving the entire production cycle.
The hiring manager is looking for an out-of-the-box thinker, some one who's excellent at following up on task/assignments/projects. Some one who can present and communicate well. The ability to present in front of small (2 -7 ppl) and medium ( 8 - 20 ppl) size groups is important. He also wants someone who has experience with statistical analysis in Excel, and using Excel to compute statistics.
The primary function of this role is to provide leadership for continuous improvement teams and technical expertise for solving all types of process problems. Primary goals are to support improvement of plant metrics such as productivity, defect rates, scrap, and customer PPM.
Lead small groups focused on continuous improvements and provide technical expertise solving process problems.
Coordinate and communicate with other departments (Production, Maintenance, Quality, Process Planning, etc).
Troubleshoot equipment and part defects. Implement corrective actions quickly and effectively.
Manage process documentation such as work instructions and setup instructions.
Develop new manufacturing equipment and processes, write equipment specifications.
Optimize the manufacturing processes to improve quality and material flow, while reducing cycle times and set-up times.
Work with the Process Planning team during development and launch of new equipment, tooling, and processes.
Provide training for new and modified processes.

Bachelors degree in Engineering preferred.
Minimum 2 years of Engineering experience
Experience with the development, installation, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and processes.
Ability to troubleshoot problems quickly and effectively implement short and long term counter measures.
Basic knowledge of PLCs, Robotics, Vision systems preferred.
Understanding of lean manufacturing, JIT, OEE, line sequencing, KANBAN, etc. a plus.
Experience as a leader of cost focused solutions to manufacturing issues.
Strong interpersonal skills and organizational aptitude.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Possess strong computer skills (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, CAD programs, Visual Basic, etc.).
