Position Summary:

The Bar Captain assists the Ops Manager in overseeing planning, set-up and break down of beverage event operations during catered and hosted events.

This role will pay an hourly rate between $30 plus tips

Ensemble Arts Philly is home to a wide variety of genres including Broadway, comedy, theater, jazz, dance, and family presentations across three iconic venues: the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, the Academy of Music, and the Miller Theater.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead a team of bartenders and bar staff, and performance management.
• Ensure exceptional service by providing fast pace, and friendly service while maintaining a positive atmosphere.
• Monitor and manage bar inventory by pulling liquor from a bar pull sheet and tracking consumption at the end of each event.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and liquor regulations, including proper handling and storage of alcohol.
• Maintain high standards for drink preparation and presentation, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Ensure that the bar area is clean, organized, and well-maintained at all times.

Qualifications:

• Three years experience as a bartending supervisor in a la carte or private dining service.
• High-energy, outgoing personality with strong professional, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Proven track record of team leadership and motivation skills.
• Attention to set up and service details are a must.
• Diplomatic team player able to foster relationships with bartenders and guests.
• Strong ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to provide outstanding customer service and handle various situations with professionalism.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks and responsibilities efficiently.
• Previous experience in bartending or a similar role, with a good understanding of mixology and bar operations.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and carry min. 50lbs
