Our Customer Service Associates perform daily shipping and receiving functions while acquiring customer service, phone etiquette and industry skills. In doing so, always focusing on customer satisfaction and growing profitable business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming materials and products.  Verify received packages with freight records. Assemble orders and pack items for shipment in an accurate and timely manner. Convey orders to shipping area.
  • 70%-80% driving to customer facilities. Must have valid driver's license. Will drive company vehicle.
  • Assist in physical inventory by counting or recording material.
  • Suggest alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications.
  • Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery, expedite as needed and communicate variances to customer.
  • Adhere to the phone system protocol.
  • Maintain proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, KIS and other common office equipment and software.
  • Demonstrate good keyboard skills.
  • Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes or returns.
  • Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the team.

Sales/Customer Service:

  • Suggest alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications.
  • Proactively recommend items needed by customers to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability.
  • Educate customers about terminology, features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales, selling KIT shop services and product initiatives.
  • Contact customers following sales to ensure on-going customer satisfaction and to resolve any pending issues or concerns.
  • Remain current on product developments by attending training (company/supplier), reading trade journals, supplier literature etc.

Expedite/On-time Delivery:

  • Obtain accurate information from suppliers relating to shipment dates and expected date of delivery.
  • Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery, expedite as needed and communicate variances to customer.


Qualifications

Education

  • A minimum of a HS Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
  • AS Degree in a Technical discipline preferred

Experience:

  • Mechanical and mathematical aptitude required. 
  • Knowledge of the distribution industry and KIT products preferred
  • A valid driver’s license may be required
