EXTENDED RELEASE FORMULATION DEVELOPMENT INTERN

Location: Kalamazoo, MI

Internship Summary:

The intern will be assigned a project offering the opportunity to actively contribute to the formulation and process development for animal health pharmaceutical products, building a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and the role scientists play in creating solutions for Zoetis. Intern will interact with other formulation, analytical, chemistry, and veterinary professionals. At the conclusion of the work period, the intern will present their project highlights, findings, and general internship accomplishments to Zoetis VMRD professionals.

Internship Job Duties:

* Directly contribute to an assigned project with mentor support. Laboratory responsibilities will vary based on the project but can include pre-formulation experiments to screen candidates, formulation development to improve and enhance the pharmaceutical performance of the drug product, formulation characterization, literature review, and computational analyses.
* Maybe required to handle raw materials used in manufacturing drug products.
* Accurate electronic notebook recording.
* Adhere to development quality systems and standards to ensure a safe work environment and processes
* Active participation in informal networking/mentor meetings and formal symposiums.
* Presentation of scientific findings and overall project at the conclusion of the internship.

Internship Qualifications:

* Candidates must be currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a bachelor's degree or master's or PhD in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Engineering.
* Candidates must be available for full-time employment for 9 - 12 weeks during May - August 2023.
* Legally authorized to work in the United States
