Some college coursework or equivalent work experience required
3 years of related payroll experience required
Payroll processing courses and/or training a plus
Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred
Must be highly proficient in Excel and Word
Ability to resolve payroll-related inquiries including but not limited to, payroll deductions, wage garnishments, child support payments, vacation and sick accruals, retroactive pay calculations, tax questions, employment verifications and resolves employee paycheck issues
Thorough understanding of tax rules for advanced payroll tasks such as wage garnishments, stock options, deferred comp distributions, & third-party sick pay
Effective written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, and mathematical skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
Must be a team player with sound judgment, strong attention to detail, and ability to work independently
