KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for a Payroll/HR Liaison.
Our HR Department is seeking a Payroll/HR Coordinator II who is primarily responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation, distribution, and reporting of all payroll. The Payroll/HR Coordinator II performs routine administrative tasks that contribute to the accurate reporting of payments to employees while maintaining effective communication channels with our outside vendors, Human Resources and Accounting partner departments, as well as providing excellent customer service to all levels of leadership and colleagues throughout the organization.
What You Will Be Doing:
  • Act as a liaison between Human Resources, Benefits, Retirement Programs and the payroll administrative vendor (Mosaic)
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of current multistate tax laws for income tax, state reciprocity agreements, and unemployment tax to ensure appropriate assignment of tax codes to employees
  • Review and analyze payroll data and reports for accuracy and resolve discrepancies to ensure accurate posting to payroll records, and compliance with company policies as well as federal, state, and local regulations
  • Work with Mosaic on timekeeping administration, validate timesheet hours, and reconcile data timekeeping imports into the payroll system
  • Verify and perform basic calculations of payroll data received from various sources (e.g.mid-cycle new hires. LOA’s and terminations, retroactive pay, salary adjustments, benefits adjustments, leave balances, etc.) for the purpose of providing summaries to other personnel, and/or ensuring compliance with established guidelines
  • Manage and reconcile requests for paid time off, ensure time off requests are recorded timely and correctly
  • Perform other duties including balancing and controlling earnings and deduction totals, inspecting automated system output such as registers and standard reports, determining and correcting out-of-balance conditions
  • Maintain payroll and related records recording the accruals and use of vacations, holidays, sick days, Volunteer days and miscellaneous leaves of absence
  • Train managers on proper timekeeper procedures
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned
  • What You Need:
  • Some college coursework or equivalent work experience required
  • 3 years of related payroll experience required
  • Payroll processing courses and/or training a plus
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred
  • Must be highly proficient in Excel and Word
  • Ability to resolve payroll-related inquiries including but not limited to, payroll deductions, wage garnishments, child support payments, vacation and sick accruals, retroactive pay calculations, tax questions, employment verifications and resolves employee paycheck issues
  • Thorough understanding of tax rules for advanced payroll tasks such as wage garnishments, stock options, deferred comp distributions, & third-party sick pay
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, and mathematical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
  • Must be a team player with sound judgment, strong attention to detail, and ability to work independently
