Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania invites applications for an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department beginning August 2025. The Computer Science Department offers a BS in Computing with concentrations in Computer Science, Information Technology and Data Analytics, a BS in Cybersecurity with concentrations in Secure Software Development and Secure Governance, and a Masters in Health Informatics and Information Management.

Position Summary: Duties include committee work at departmental, college, and/or university levels, academic advising, scholarly activities including research that may involve undergraduate students, and other duties as assigned. Teaching assignments will include courses in the computing and/or cybersecurity majors, including teaching advanced computer science courses.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Ph.D. in Computer Science or closely related field.
2. Successful performance in an on-campus interview, including a teaching and research demonstration.
3. Perceived ability to work productively with students and colleagues.
4. Commitment to the education of diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Familiarity with online teaching and learning software.
2. Experience providing evidence of the ability to teach core computing classes.
3. Commitment to research and scholarly activities including publications in computer science/Cybersecurity.
4. Familiarity with a broad range of assessment techniques, instructional technology in the teaching-learning process, and the role of faculty in student success, recruitment, and retention.
