Job Description

Cherokee Nation Businesses is looking for a Finance Manager for its businesses in the Environmental & Construction Sector.  This exciting opportunity will leverage the candidate’s experience in finance and construction.

Responsible for development of profit/loss statement through oversight of financial contract matters including analysis and risk identification.  Critical team member of Program Management, Proactive in development of policies, procedures and processes as they relate to the Environmental & Construction sector’s financial compliance. 

Includes the following (other duties may be assigned):
  • Analyzes profit and loss statement including general ledger accounts as necessary
  • Supports month end close responsibilities and  financial reviews in a timely manner
  • Analyzes and interprets financial data which includes revenue, cost, profit, and variance analysis.
  • Identifies and implements corrective action of non-compliance of policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in accordance with FAR/GAAP and company practices including allowable and unallowable costs
  • Manages development of detail budgets and monitors actuals incurred to include analysis of critical EAC statements
  • Analyses overhead and G&A rates for impact to operating income to achieve forecast rates as they relate to ROS/ROI
  • Support and provide financial  proposal pricing requirements with regard to the Sectors Estimator / pricing manager
  • Implementation of  DCAA/DCMA compliant proposal pricing system
  • Develops, streamlines, implements and monitors processes and internal financial reports and controls
  • Supports internal and external audit requests for designated areas including DCAA and DCMA
  • Prepares analysis for management discussion to include preliminary flash and final flash for monthly/quarterly/year end statements
May manage or direct more than one department through subordinate supervisors/managers. Support multiple projects in various stages of proposal, and daily functional duties, with financial oversight without having direct supervisory responsibilities

Requires 8 year’s direct experience in DOD/DoS/USACE government construction contracting environment with an additional 2-5 years of financial analysis experience (Total of 8+ years’ experience required).  Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting with an extensive construction related KSA.   At least 3 years of direct management experience.

  • Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFAR) preferred
  • Experience working with Accounting Software applications, including Deltek T&E and Costpoint a plus
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications (with strong Excel skills), as well in a network environment
  • Ability to execute responsibilities with minimal supervision, proactively adjudge and react to potential problems, and effectively communicate at all levels of supervision and executive management.
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills, ability to interact as part of a dynamic team concept
  • Construction knowledge with  a procurement and financial associated background is highly regarded
This position is primarily performed in a climate controlled office setting. Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment.  Business casual attire with the occasion of a professional business appearance may be required.
