The OHS Medical Only Specialist provides Case Management services for Medical Only claims in multiple regions. This position is responsive to Marriott's associates, Marriott Claims Services, Business Units, and Community Health Resources.



+ Provides Case Management services for non-complicated Medical Only claims in multiple regions.

+ Participates in Triage program oversight of claims.

+ Supports Regional Manager,UNM,and NCM team as request ed.

Expected Contributions

Case Manager of non-complicated Medical Only claims

+ Maintain four-point contact on all assigned claims.

+ Obtain work status and medical reports.

+ Enter treatment requests and physician referrals into the medical authorization screen in iVOS.

+ Schedule physician,diagnostics, and therapy appointments.

+ Arrange for translators and transportation per regional guidelines.

+ Confirm injured worker attendance for appointments.

+ Confirm timely delivery of DME.

+ Request pharmacy benefit cards and confirm receipt and compliance with PBM.

+ Document all activity in iVOS.

+ Closes claim appropriately (Medical care ceases, claim deni ed,attorney representation).

+ TransfersclaimtoNurseCareManagerappropriately(Lost-time,specialistreferral,treatmentexceeds35days, attorneyrepresentation).

+ Understands limitations and refers to nurse for guidance as appropriate.Nurse Care Manager Triage assistance

+ Follows Triage diaries weekly for ninety days.

+ Removes from diary appropriately (Full duty or discharge from care, claim denied, etc.).

+ Alerts NCM of compensable claims appropriately (Become lost time,specialist referral, treatment exceeds ninety days,attorney representation).

+ Understands limitations and refers to nurse for guidance as appropriate.Administrative Assistance

+ Assist Regional Manager of OHS, NCMs,and UNMs as assigned.

+ Participates in committee work as assigned.

+ Assist in organizing meetings, webinars, and conference calls.

+ Uses all internal computer programs as well as Microsoft Office Suite proficiently.


+ Continuing Self Education through Marriott on-line courses and other educational resources.



+ Must have at least three years administrative experience

+ Medical terminology and claims office experience desired but not required

+ Spanish as a second language desired but not required

**Knowledge and Skills**

+ Strong computer skills including mastery of Microsoft Office Suite

+ Strong organization skills

+ Ability to prioritize work

+ Ability to meet deadlines and follow up in a timely manner

+ Ability to remain detailed oriented while working on routine and repeatable processes

+ Good communication skills (verbal,listening, writing)

+ Basic knowledge of claims process

+ Ability to work well in a team,providing assistance to fellow associates and representing the mission of the unit

+ Possess a willingness to accept and respond to constructive criticism.

+ Present oneself with a positive, professional demeanor.

+ Communicate often with supervisor keeping him/her informed

+ Dependability.

**Education or Certification**

+ Must have Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
